Wu Mao Gui 2008 UK Visit
Double
Dragon Alliance will be organizing a series of workshops around the
UK featuring Master Wu Mao Gui of Shanghai, from 26th April to 7th
May 2008. Master Wu is a master of Tong Bei Quan and one of the foremost
martial artists in Shanghai. Tong Bei, means "the power emanates from
and through the back" (it is not related to Monkey Fist). Tong Bei is
an extremely effective system, both in terms of promoting good health and in
connecting and opening the entire body; as well as being a very efficient form
of self defence.
Tong Bei’s history is related to Chen Style Taiji and has a
very strong internal flavour, especially in the utilization of the Dan Tian
and whole body power, plus in its cultivation and use of the spirit and energy/Qi.
Master
Wu’s seminars will focus on Tong Bei’s basic foundation training exercises.
They are suitable for practitioners of all types of martial arts, and are designed
to connect the body to become a unified, integrated, yet relaxed and vigorous
whole unit. The joints are opened and relaxed, to allow the power and energy
to flow freely throughout the entire body. He will also teach push hands and
Tong Bei’s sparring techniques. Master Wu has students from all around the
world and regularly teaches in Germany. He is a patient, diligent and extremely
generous teacher, and provides detailed information, so enjoy this unique opportunity
to study with one of the top masters in Shanghai and one of China’s best martial
